This is the story of Vanda and Phil. I had always wanted to know more of what made Vanda the way she is and for the Author Kerrelyn Sparks to pair her with a guard that is a shifter was great. I loved the way there attraction was like a slow burn. Vanda fought it while Phil pushed her to her limits all the while hiding his shifter status from her. Vanda had a tragic past that formed her future in a way that had Phil trying to break down walls constantly. I just felt this book let me down a little. I just felt like Vanda's character in this story was just too strong. In other books prior to this I felt her character was right on point. I still rate this story with a strong four stars because of Phil's side of the story. I loved him and I wish I had seen more of him in previous books. Kerrelyn Sparks series is still one of my favorites and I can't wait for the next book. The audio on this book is great and was very smooth.
