Madeline MacDonald has been living in hell since her parents died and her stepbrother has forced her to be betrothed to an evil man. She only wants to run away and leave but every time she tried he brought her back. When Laird Alexander Grant and his brother visit Maddie's home he goes into her room by mistake and sees her bruises. He is honor bound to rescue her. When he holds her he knows he can never let her go. When he learns of the true abuse she endured he will do everything to avenge her and make her his. All he has to do is make Maddie agree to it. I am in love with this book and characters. I cannot wait for the next book. This has definitely become a must read series for me.
