★★RELEASE DAY + GIVEAWAY★★ It's the official release day for Nick & Hannah {even though they've been in the world for a few days already}. #OneClick Waiting for the Sun>> mybook.to/WaitingfortheSun...
I’m unapologetically in love with Nick Kovac.
He can claim to hate me and blame me for everything.
I’ll fight for us both.
He severs the promise he made, leaving me on the hockey rink floor, heartbroken and alone.
It doesn’t take me long to stand with my head held high, while he's being a coward. Stuck between push and pull, everything we are is in question.
Sometimes the answers are in the stars. Others, it’s where the sun shines that our lives change.

“No more games,” she whispers. “It hurts too much. I can’t touch you without it being more, and more hurts every chamber inside my heart. I need this to be done, for us to be done.” Her fingers dig into my hip, like she’s trying to hold on for dear life. “We could’ve been something, Nick Kovac.”

“We are something.” My words hiccup in the middle, proving I’m not strong at all. “I just don’t know what it is yet.”

“Until then, I guess.” Hannah cries into my chest.

Her sobs are knives to my soul, severing everything I think I know. It would be so easy to tell her we belong together, to hold her in my arms and promise I will never hurt her again. Easy isn’t always right. She deserves better than what I can give her right now.

“I’m not whole, Hannah.” I trail my hands up and down her back, soothing her cries. “You’ve always deserved me in my entirety, and I’m sorry for never giving him over to you. You deserved him most of all.”

Hannah tucks the sheet around her body and climbs from my bed. I watch as she moves through my room, taking in every little thing. She stops at the bathroom, flicks the light on, and leaves the door open a crack, casting the room in shadows.

When she comes back to bed, my arm circles her and pulls her close. My fingers play with the tendrils of hair along her forehead, brushing them away from her face.
“I would have taken half of you, always.” She rolls over, and soft light cascades over her face. “Forever.”
Lindsey Iler is the author of the Our Worlds series. She's had her feet planted in the state of Michigan since she was born and she still lives there with her husband and four kids.
