Cage is a hockey player and that is his life. His best friend Pen is a musician. She is struggling with her decisions and how to handle her over bearing mother. These two make things explode. I love their passion not only for life but for each other and their careers. Excellent writing with a storyline that will make you very proud.

I really enjoyed this book, loved the characters Cage and Penny, they were a great couple.I loved the passion between these two characters. The author did an excellent job with Cage and Penny. Penny's mom was a piece of work, real bitchy mom. I hated the way she kept being a downer to Penny, but I do love the way Cage helped her through all of that. I would recommend this book highly, I give this 5 stars.

The story of Penelope and Cage is breathtaking. You will not only be wanting to laugh but you will feel their anxiety. The details are written well and leave nothing to the imagination. It is a very fast paced and easy read that will play through your head like a movie. This series will keep you interested and highly entertained. Each book is placed around a holiday. The title goes along with each holiday. This book Heartstrings and Hockey Pucks goes with Valentine's Day. Each book can be a stand alone and will not need to be read in order. Beautiful little story about how Penelope and Cage worked through their problems of his career, her dream career, her mother's interference and the issues of a long distance relationship to a happily ever after. Loved these two characters and the story-line. Just enough challenges to hold the interest and to help Pen grow a strong backbone and stand up for her own desires. I actually loved this. It's a true friends to lovers story. Certainly gave me a few tears. The story of Penelope (Pen) and Cage does have you caught from the first page. Pen is a musician she's basically caught between what she wants in her heart and what has always been a dream. Her mother is not helping in the situation to be honest she is a stuck up woman. Cage is a Hockey player who has no problems in his career. Both Pen and Cage together are seriously explosive like panty wetting explosive. They start off kind of rocky and neither telling the other their feelings but when they do oh wow just yum !!! Recommended read!

Pen and Cage are high school friends turned lovers turned best friends. But neither really wanted to just be friends. The author takes you on a journey of courage and strength to find out what you really want out of life, what your dreams are and to go after them. Cage is a little bit alpha but not overly so. Pen is strong and courageous but unsure of herself. The characters are semi-well developed. Would have liked to have read more about their backgrounds. Also sex scenes are completely skipped - only alluded to. Still a nice story with hockey in the background.

This is a stand alone and does have an HEA.
