This is the second book in the series and after Elder Prest saved her from two years of brutal human slavery he didn't think that he was putting her in a new prison with him. Locked together and both not knowing what to do next. She doesn't know what he wants from her. He has no idea what to do but he knows that he wants everything from her, including her mind. Pim is no longer the innocent girl she was when she was stolen and doesn't know who she truly is anymore. Elder is not someone not used to getting what he wants. This book we learn more of what is going on in Pim's head as well as some of Elder's past. I love how with each book we learn a little more about the characters. The storyline kept me engrossed and I couldn't put it down. Pepper Winters has the talent and know how to pull in her readers and make them become emotionally invested in her characters and this series is just another great read from her. Definitely recommend to anyone who loves a great dark read.
