“Doom must have told her about the votes.”
Arden shook her head. “No, he didn’t mention votes.”
“He asked me to tell her.” Siren leaned against the counter. “There was a miscommunication that the brothers want me to straighten out.”
Widening her eyes, Arden pretended innocence. “Miscommunication?”
“They didn’t tell you about the votes you have to get before a woman can become a Last Rider.”
The two women broke into laughter. “That’s a big miscommunication.” Lola rolled her eyes. “Since when have any of the brothers been shy about explaining them?”
Siren gave Lola a harassed glare. “Are you going stop talking or not?”
Lola pretended to zip and lock her mouth.
Arden could tell Siren wasn’t buying her look of pretend innocence.
“Hon, I don’t know why you’re wanting to become a Last Rider, but if you’re just looking to get back at an ex, or wanting to spice up your love life, this isn’t the place. Why don’t you check out ladies’ night at Wily Goose Ale House on a Saturday night? The action isn’t bad there, and your coochie won’t take a couple of days to recover.”
“It took you two days?” Kat seemed impressed. “Hell, it took me a week to get the hang of it.”
Siren threw a bar rag at Kat. “Shut the fuck up.”
Kat grabbed the rag and started to get off her stool.
“What’re the rules?” Arden put an end to the budding fight she could see was about to take place from Kat’s furious expression.
Kat sat back down, and then both women’s arms went to the bar top to prop their face on their hands to watch.
Siren ignored them.
“You need six votes to become a member. It used to be from the original members, but since they’re all in Treepoint, Kentucky, in the other chapter, they let Wizard, Puck, Buck, Jesus, Doom, Moon, and Nickel give votes. You’ll have to catch a ride with one of the brothers to go to Kentucky for Moon’s and Nickel’s votes unless you manage to get them while they’re here. Nickel comes here about every couple of months, Moon just whenever he doesn’t think he’ll get caught. The mayor’s daughter wanted to be a Last Rider when Moon was the president here. Needless to say, he’s been dodging the law ever since.”
Arden filed that piece of information away as she continued to listen.
“I miss Moon,” Lola lamented.
“Anyway—” Siren gave Lola a threatening glare, “to earn the votes, you have sex with six of them any way you want, as long as they come. For example, Buck can watch Puck do you, and if Buck comes, you basically get a free vote.”
“They watch?” Arden could tell Kat and Lola were enjoying her embarrassment, while Siren was giving her a sympathetic glance.
“Depends. If you’re in this area, anyone coming into the bar can watch. Hon, none of us are shy. But if they take you to their room, the brother gets to choose if the door is to be left open or closed. Most of the brothers let you choose. Wizard doesn’t give a fuck who watches. The more, the merrier. That brings me to another point Doom wanted to make sure you’re made aware of.”
“How nice of him,” Arden grated out between clenched teeth.
Siren’s gaze became more sympathetic. “If the door is open, anyone can not only watch but join in if the brother gives them permission.”
Arden felt the bile beginning to churn in her stomach. “Are we talking about a threesome?”
“Or a foursome, or a fivesome..."
