In this next book in the Chicago Syndicate series we follow Carmine Montesi, the head boss's brother and Lawyer/Counselor in the Chicago Syndicate. One of the top members of this elite Chicago based mafia. One night he meets Eva Conley an escort with secrets behind her beautiful eyes. She is caught in a no win battle between two powerful men and no way out. To protect her family she will do anything, even sleep with the enemy. During the course of meeting and fighting with each other Eva finds that not only her body craves Carmine but her heart as well, but they can't be together and no one has ever chosen her so why would he? Wow! Another great book in this must read series. Eva is such strong and passionate woman. Carmine is missing something in his life and when he looks at all the happiness surrounding him in his family he feels lonely. Together Eva and Carmine bring fire and heat to the life. Their story is filled with passion, love, and danger. I couldn't stop reading this book because the story just pulled me in. This is one emotional roller coaster of a ride. The story was sad at times that it brought me to tears. I have to give kudos to the author because this series handles some tough issues and they are done so well and given such care when incorporating the characters into this story. This is by far one of my favorite mafia themed romance series. I highly recommend this book and series. Although this book is a stand alone, you can learn more about the other characters by reading the previous books.
