~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Cruel Temptation continues on from where Embracing the Dawn left off. Kayci is now a full vampire but she is also a sorceress trying to find her way. She is also trying to lead the covenant with Adrian at her side. She needs to start bringing all the sides together and that means witches and werewolves. The history has not been so smooth for any of these factions, so bringing them together is not making things easy for Kayci.
I cannot express how much I love this book and all the amazing plot points that Betty Shreffler brings into this book. Every book in this series just gets better and better. I would highly recommend this book and series as it gives the reader a little bit of everything; action, romance, mystery and danger.
~~~~~~~~~~Lillian's ★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Kayci has just started to find her feet after becoming a full bloodied vampire and the new leader of the covenant. She is hoping to start a new alliance with the witches, werewolves and to build a strong covenant and to just keep on learning to improve her witch skills but she knows that there is still so much that she doesn't know. Adrian is at her side and he gives her the extra strength that she needs.
She is about to meet a werewolf Cassius and her vampire side wants him and he has made sure that she knows that he will get her. She needs to stop this before anything happens, she loves Adrian and knows that she would never hurt him like that.
She will need Cass more than she could even imagine as her life is about to be changed forever and I don't think that she will recover fully. She is kidnapped and a mad vampire & werewolf experiment on her hoping to find a cure for aging.
She is safe for now but she is hell-bent on getting revenge for her friend's violent death and she will stop at nothing to get it even if it means using dark magic. She meets new allies and she gets to spend more time with her Dad and she gets her revenge but at a huge price and she will have to live with the guilt of what she has done. Is there hope for her and Adrian or will Cass be her future? A great second book in the series pity it left us with endless questions.
